Eligibility requirements

• You must be 18 years of age or older
• You must provide truthful and accurate information during registration
• You must have legal capacity to enter into a binding contract
• You must not be prohibited from using the service under applicable law

Age verification process

• You must give your date of birth when you sign up
• Photo ID verification is optional, and verified profiles show a tick
• We may ask you to verify your identity or age at any time, for example after a report
• Accounts suspected of being under 18 will be immediately suspended
• Confirmed underage usage will be reported to relevant authorities

Expected behaviour

DateMaite is built on respect, honesty, and genuine connection. All users are expected to treat each other with dignity and courtesy.

• Be honest and authentic in your profile and interactions
• Treat all users with respect, regardless of background
• Use the platform only for its intended dating and social purposes
• Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviour promptly

Zero tolerance policies

• Harassment, bullying, or threatening behaviour of any kind
• Hate speech, discrimination, or content targeting protected characteristics
• Sexual content involving or targeting minors
• Non-consensual sharing of intimate images
• Impersonation or creating fake profiles

Subscription tiers

DateMaite offers free and premium subscription tiers. Premium features are detailed in the app and are subject to change with reasonable notice.

Billing and renewal

• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your device account settings
• Prices may vary by region and are subject to change

Credits and virtual items

• Credits and virtual items have no monetary value and cannot be refunded
• Unused credits expire if your account is terminated for breach of these terms
• Credits are non-transferable between accounts

Refund policy

Refunds are handled in accordance with Apple App Store and Google Play Store policies. We do not offer refunds outside of those platforms' standard processes except where required by law.

Prohibited content

• Nudity or sexually explicit material on your public profile
• Content that depicts, promotes, or glorifies violence or self-harm
• Spam, commercial solicitation, or advertising
• Malware, phishing links, or any malicious code
• Content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights

Prohibited activities

• Using bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access the platform
• Attempting to reverse-engineer or circumvent security measures
• Creating multiple accounts or circumventing bans
• Selling or transferring your account to another person
• Using the platform to facilitate illegal activities
• Soliciting money or financial assistance from other users

Reporting illegal content

You can report illegal content or behaviour directly in the app or by emailing info@datemaite.com. We aim to review serious reports within 48 hours.

Your content

You retain ownership of content you upload (photos, bio, etc.). By uploading content, you grant DateMaite a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute your content solely for operating the platform.

DateMaite IP

The DateMaite name, logo, app design, and all proprietary technology are owned by DateMaite Ltd. You may not use our intellectual property without prior written permission.

Service availability

DateMaite is provided on an 'as is' basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Planned maintenance and unexpected outages may occur.

User interactions

DateMaite is not responsible for the actions of individual users. We strongly encourage safe practices: meet in public, tell a friend, and trust your instincts.

Liability cap

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100 (whichever is greater).

Exclusions

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Informal resolution

Before taking formal action, please contact us at info@datemaite.com. We aim to resolve complaints within 30 days.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Alternative dispute resolution

UK consumers may refer complaints to an approved ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) scheme. Details available on request.

Termination by you

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Your Data. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.

Termination by us

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts that breach these terms, without prior notice where the breach is serious (e.g., illegal content, harassment, underage usage).

Effect of termination

• Your profile and content will be removed from the platform
• Active subscriptions will not be automatically refunded (subject to platform refund policies)
• Unused credits are forfeited upon termination for breach
• Some data may be retained for legal or safety purposes

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email at least 30 days before they take effect.

Continued use of the app after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
